Richard and Marjory James started Monument Farms Dairy in 1930. Currently, Peter James, Bob James, and Jon Rooney are third-generation owners, along with Millicent Rooney, a second-generation owner. Several fourth-generation family members currently work in the business. Monument Farms employs 36 people and has received numerous conservation awards recognizing their efforts in caring for their lands and waters. They currently have 500 milking cows that help to generate an estimated 750,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, as well as bedding for the three cow facilities. The farm came online in September of 2011.
